What to record in a site diary
Keep it simple and consistent: date and weather, who was on site, work completed, deliveries, visitors or inspections, delays and their cause, and any instructions or changes from the client. Take photos before work gets covered up — pipes, cables and insulation are much harder to prove once they’re behind plasterboard.
